We greatly appreciated that our honored guests Mr. Consul Strunk, representing the German Embassy to cut ribbon for the Nursing Unit, Mr. Hans Muller and Mr. Reiner Calmund cutting ribbons for two Girls’ Houses, Mr. William Macey representing the Pattaya Sports Club, sponsoring the sports court as well as the Diana Group Pattaya representing by Khun Sopin Thappajak sponsoring the common sala, all generously took their precious time to join the occasion.

After brief information about progress of CPDC during the past 10 months by Radchada Chomjinda, Director of HHN Foundation and reports on present residents and Drop-in Center by Supagon Noja, Director of CPDC, children from the Pattaya Orphanage, Wat Huay Yai students and CPDC present some traditional Thai dancing shows.

All the buildings opened today mean great development to CPDC.  In the near future the Nursing unit sponsored by the German embassy will not only provide all CPDC children a good health care but also allow children from the slums and nearby local area who suffer from trivial diseases to have a free access to medical treatment. Children, whose families cannot afford any medical treatment, often suffer from common diseases which may lead to serious consequences if not treated promptly. The Nursing Unit is a big progress in the concept of CPDC, our thanks to the German embassy for continued great support.

The two new Girls’ houses accommodate 16 former female street children providing them with a safe place to live and a stable environment among friends. Many thanks to the great generosity of Mr. Hans Muller and Mr. Rainer Calmund who have been supporting CPDC as well as the Pattaya Orphanage for many times.

The Sports Court which has been long expected by CPDC children will provide a nice playing area for them with lots of space to play and practice sports. The boys, already dressed up in training tricots happily joined the opening, same as the girls who are looking forward to enjoy the new playing field. Thanks to the Pattaya sports club the sport court could be installed and will in future be a significant part of the children’s life.  Sport is really an important element in order to help traumatized children to find a way back into a normal life.

The Common Sala will be a place for every member at CPDC including a place for receiving visitors. It will also provide space for office meetings and counseling services. The HHNFT/CPDC team are truly appreciated the great support by Diana Group Pattaya for this sustainable office.

Our guests and children enjoyed the nice celebration not only for these great donations but also for the supportive speeches by all our honored guests, emphasizing the importance of HHNFT/CPDC work to fight against child prostitution and human trafficking in order to help street children in need or at risk of sexual abuse. With the continued support from international benefactors our concept is made possible with the further to open a Drop-in Center in downtown Pattaya.  All members of Human Help Network Foundation Thailand as well as all children and staff members of CPDC are truly thankful to the continued kind support from people all over the world, sustaining our work and offering street children in need new perspectives and in many cases, even helping them to find a way into a new, independent life.

Mit dem Puppentheater sammelte der Gründer Ewald Dietrich die ersten Gelder zur Finanzierung der Vereinsgründung und des ersten Projekts. Auch in Thailand hilft die Organisation den Schutzbefohlenen wieder ein geordnetes und stabiles Leben führen zu können. Im Waisenhaus und dem Kinderschutzzentrum in Pattaya sorgen fürsorgliche Mitarbeiter und freiwillige Helfer für die Kinder.

They were generously invited by the German football Club Viktoria Frechen to take part in the „Sport Mila Cup 2010“. Mr. Reiner Calmund, a German football expert and former manger of the German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, Heiko Klimantschewski, Ingo Kleinow and Tina Zander from Viktoria Frechen had the idea of organizing the journey in autumn last year.

Reiner Calmund, a long time supporter of the Pattaya Oprhange as well as the CPDC, managed to organize sponsors for the flight and accommodation, so the boys were ready to take off at the beginning of this June.

Besides taking part in the „Sport Mila Cup 2010” the Orphanage´s football youth team had the chance to take a little look around in some cities of Germany. Always guided by their trainer Heiko Klimanschewski they enjoyed a wonderful and unforgettable time in Germany.

Today they all arrived safely and happily back home in the Orphanage, proud because they even won the second prize of the international football tournament.

Moreover they came back with generous donations such as high quality footballs, shoes and basketballs sponsored by Mr. Reiner Calmund and benefactors. The goods will be shared with the children from the Child Protection and Development Center (CPDC) and will bring the children great fun playing and practicing.

All members of the Pattaya Orphanage and CPDC, especially the members of the football youth are very thankful and happy that they had the big honor to travel to Germany. We thank all sponsors and benefactors for making this journey possible and unforgettable for the children.

As the four smallest boys still need the caring of a mother they also moved in one of the two girl´s house together with the female teacher and the youngest girls. The children are very happy that they now have more room to sleep and play.

Each child carried it´s clothes and the bigger children helped carrying the mattresses. They were excited about the wonderful rooms and their new playing area.

As it is regulated by Thai law the boys and girls houses are separated by open ground and the new girls houses are marked by a low planted wall. The space between the boys and girls houses will in future be occupied by the dining sala.

Again we are all very thankful about the great donation which made this quick progress possible and from now on provides all CPDC girls a safe home to live, learn and play.

Thanks to our German great donor who sponsored two girls’ houses which are now finished. The houses are built nearly identical to the three boys’ houses. Each house provides bedrooms and bathrooms for about 6 to 8 girls plus a room for the teacher who being assigned as a house-mother to the girls.

This week all girls will move out from one of the boys’ houses in which they stayed for the past months, to the new houses which about 70 meter away divide them with lines of flower plants and trees. Some of the boys and their teacher will move to occupy the house where the girls used to live for the last six months. All children are looking very much forward to the moving as they will all have more space in their new beautiful houses. The construction works for the third girls living house has already started and the house is expected to be finished by August 2010.

Moreover the construction work of the Nursing Unit is finished. Once again, thanks to the second generous donation of the German Embassy, Bangkok, for making this project possible. HHNFT will promptly arrange for medical equipment and will soon have this nursing unit in operation. The CPDC Nursing Unit will provide free basic medical care not only for all CPDC children but also for children from streets and children living in the 17 slums of Pattaya.

Last but not least, the Education Center at CPDC is under construction. This important part of the work at CPDC is supported by CLSA. In the near future the education area will  provide a good education to those children, who for some reasons cannot attend school and integrated in normal academic. The children will be trained in handicraft and mechanical skills, remedial and non-formal education, so to find a suitable job after they graduated. Each course is expected to be finished in about six months up to one year period.

Everybody at HHNFT and CPDC including all children are very happy of these immense developments and very much grateful and thankful to all benefactors for continued great support, both locally and internationally.

Everybody was very happy to welcome back the three friends of the CPDC, Ashley Syms, Pam Proto and Matt Cline. The Americans supported the CPDC from the very beginning. They visited the CPDC several times and got to know the children. Starting up with smaller projects they now realized more support for the CPDC .

That day all children and staff members as well as the special guests enjoyed an unforgettable ground breaking ceremony. To symbolize the to-be dining sala the children had decorated the area with a flower-adorned ribbon guarding the spot where the blade of the shovel would be put to use.

After it was cut open, all the three of them symbolical moved the first load of soil and therefore opened up the construction works.

Later that day everybody enjoyed playing with the children. The dining sala will be in the center of the CPDCs compound and it will be more than just a place to cook and eat. The building will be an open meeting place for all children and provide protection from sun and rain.

Awaiting for her arrival are 10 Dutch ladies group leads by President of P.I.L.C., Mrs. Anja Schoof, Dr. & Mrs. Henk Dijkstra, Ms. Elfi Seitz and the German great benefactor who donated for 3 houses at CPDC, Mr. Hans Müller.

After receiving warm welcome and a short briefing of over all work during the past year from Director of HHNFT, Mrs. Braze kindly donates 50.000 Baht to benefit the children sustainable education. She feels it is great important these children learn additional skills which may suit each of them in addition from normal academic.

Mrs. Braze spends some time with children and held a short speech. She emphasized the importance of education and encouraged the children to believe in their dreams and always give their best. Moreover each child received a nice little bag with books, notebooks as well as a pen, all come in beautiful bright orange colour which represents Holland. The children spent their afternoon looking at picture books, writing, drawing and reading happily.

Mrs. Braze took her time taking a look around CPDC with accompanied of all Dutch ladies and gentleman. They visit the farm, had a look at one of the dormitory houses and the dining area. She was impressed withthe fast development and work done at CPDC.

Early that day all CPDC children were transferred to the Pattaya Orphanages compound to join the orphans so to splashing water to the passed by on the main Sukhumvit Road. All children had the opportunity to take part in the water games that are originally a ritual to clean the soul for the New Year and an important part of the Thai culture and tradition. In front of the Pattaya Orphanages compound the children had space to play while they were watched by their nannies.

The Orphanage hosted lunch for all children and moreover provided some water guns and water for the children to play. All children and staff members had a fun day outside playing with each other.

All children and staff members of the Pattaya Orphange as well as the staff members and volunteers of Human Help Network Foundation Thailand joined the celebration. Everybody enjoyed the evening which emphasized and focused on the Thai culture and traditions as all participants, including the volunteers, wore beautiful Thai dresses on a small parade on the Orphanages compound.

The children had a lot of fun dressing up as they later all proudly presented their traditional costumes. Some of the girls of the Pattaya Orphanage performed a traditional Thai dance and a small New Years celebrity was held.

At the same time the Family Day was a good opportunity to also celebrate the birthdays of children and staff members of the Pattaya Orphange who had their birthdays during the past three months. Father Michael Weera, director of the Pattaya Orphanage, congratulated each of them and surprised them with some presents.

Later on everybody enjoyed Isan food and a nice evening with all members of the Pattaya Orphanage.  It was a very nice time and especially the children had a lot of fun playing, eating and dancing with all their friends and members of the Pattaya Orphanage.

Among other children in the area the temple hosts our children for nearly a month and the boys learn about Thai traditions and Buddhist principles. The vacation program consists of life experiences in the temple and the Thai cultural disciplines in society. The CPDC staff takes turn to visit the children regularly as the temple is only 3 km. away from CPDC compound.

The boys will return to the CPDC on April 16^th and will celebrate Songkran among all other residents.   After celebrate water festival in Pattaya on April 19^th,  they will need to prepare for their next school year early May.
