Already in July, we were happy to welcome Viola (21) who is now already spending the last weeks of her three months lasting internship. She was engaged not only in teaching English to the preschool children, visitor assistance and administrative work but also in helping with the organization of events such as the Charity Football Tournament. It was a great pleasure to work together with her. In October, she is going to continue her psychology studies in Mainz, Germany.

In August, Tabea and Ben left the HHNFT team after one year of volunteering.  They had been responsible for teaching English and visitor assistance but also for administrative work such as updating the homepages, writing articles and translation. One example of their enriching work is the HHNFT booklet. The large number of copies taken by visitors etc. proves Ben’s and Tabea’s worth as members of the team. Thank you very much for your great contribution to the work of HHNFT!

Although it is sad to see them leaving, we are on the same time happy to welcome two new volunteers from Germany. Before, they finished school and now want to engage themselves in a social project and get to know a new culture. They came here in cooperation with the German programme “weltwaerts”, the Red Cross Rheinland-Pfalz and the HHN office Germany as well and will be part of the team from September, 2011, until the end of August, 2012.

On Thursday the 19th of May 2011 our German volunteers visited  two schools in the south of Thailand which were damaged by the floods towards end of March.  Both Baan Kung Wang Wow School and Wat Phaprabath Rajbumrung School  are located in a rural area and did not get any support from the Thai government.

One of the two German volunteers, Ms. Tabea Bender, was “shocked to see the extent of the flood” and at the same time “ amazed by how they continue schooling in spite of so many losses and limitations”. Items most needed  at both schools are schoolbooks, chairs and tables for classes, mattresses for the nursery and cooking utensils.  With the assistance of the Rotary Club of Sithammasokarat the funds raised in our recent campain will be directed to these two schools and also to the Rotary Club of Thasala’s project c/o  Rotarian Alvi Sinthuvanik.   The latter will provide around 50 students with school material so they can continue their education.

The generousity of our kind supporters in April soon after the natural disaster has entitled us to provide financial aid for schools and children in most desperate need. As  Human Help Network Foundation Thailand and on behalf of all children and teachers that benefit from this campaign, we want to give our sincere thanks to all our supporters.

Ms. Hauschild (25) had been working at the HHN Office since August, doing a great job and handling an impressive variety of different tasks and responsibilities. Whether it came to showing visitors around the Pattaya Orphanage or the CPDC, teaching English to the preschool children or helping at important events like the Orphanage’s 36th Anniversary (to name but a few): Ms. Hauschild helped wherever she could with remarkable commitment. It was a great enrichment for Human Help Network Foundation Thailand as well as for the Pattaya Orphanage and especially the Children to have Ms. Hauschild volunteer at HHN.

Ms. Engelmann and Ms. Bender, who just like Ms. Hauschild were both conveyed by our German Partner Human Help Network Deutschland, will work at the HHN Office and also as preschool teachers at the Pattaya Orphanage.

The possibility to have dedicated young people from abroad help and work with us on a voluntary basis is a great privilege to this organization. The volunteers are a big enrichment to our work and an integral part of our team in Thailand.

Human Help Network Foundation Thailand would like to give most sincere thanks to Ms. Hauschild for being a member of our team, for helping us and making a contribution to our support for Thailand’s unprivileged children. At the same time we are happy and excited to welcome the two new volunteers from Germany in our Team.

Mit dem Puppentheater sammelte der Gründer Ewald Dietrich die ersten Gelder zur Finanzierung der Vereinsgründung und des ersten Projekts. Auch in Thailand hilft die Organisation den Schutzbefohlenen wieder ein geordnetes und stabiles Leben führen zu können. Im Waisenhaus und dem Kinderschutzzentrum in Pattaya sorgen fürsorgliche Mitarbeiter und freiwillige Helfer für die Kinder.

As a volunteer there are many different application areas. One part of our volunteer work at the HHN Thailand Foundation is the regularly updating of the HHN´s homepage, giving all news to the people who support us and people who are interested in HHN FT´s work.

Moreover our volunteer´s role is to guide and inform visitors about the Pattaya Orphanage, the CPDC and the work of Human Help Network Foundation Thailand in general. This is why every volunteer is expected to speak English fluently.

The other part is to help out in the Pattaya Orphanage. As daily English teacher we help out in the Preschool and besides teach German to the children who will be adopted to Germany. Moreover there is always something to do, may it be in The Orphanage or the HHN office, we are always willing and happy to support Human Help Network Foundation Thailand in every way we can.
