In times of rising medical costs, free health check-ups, like the ones provided by a medical team from Thanyarak Institute on Saturday 26th, are of incomparable value to the children under our care. For the second time this year, the CPDC hosted a professional team of doctors and nurses that treated not only the children at our center, but also numerous families from slum areas in and around Pattaya.
The team from Thanyarak Institute, lead by Deputy Director General Dr. Boonreung Trireungworarat and Dr. Mona Asawisanu spent a whole day at our center, providing medicine, dentistry and general health counseling to the children living at the CPDC and to the least fortunate of Pattaya children and parents.
Not only did they treat the people’s health issues, but also they organized games and activities for the children. Without a doubt the presence of the friendly doctors and nurses and the fun games and competitions helped the former street children overcome their reluctance and accept medical help from the professionals.
In addition to the One-Baht-per-person medical treatment, the team donated medical equipment, toys, sweets and over 14000 THB in cash to the CPDC.
With over 150 children and parents attending the occasion, this event was a big success and an important step towards rehabilitation for those who suffer from illness or injuries. On behalf of all the children and families we would like to express our sincere thanks to the whole team of Thanyarak Institute for helping and caring with such generosity.
